Bone Clones® Australopithecus boisei Skull

This Australopithecus boisei skull is a replica of an early homind specimen. The original Australopithecus boisei skull was an important find by R. Leakey at Koobi For a, Kenya in 1969. The skull helped to shed light on the controversial hypothesis that all australopithicines were of the same species, and tended to support the classification of A. boisei as a separate species of Australopithecus. The cranium of this Australopithecus boisei skull is virtually complete, having a capacity of 510cc. The replication of this A. boisei skull was carefully researched, every effort has been made to re-create anatomical details of color, size, shape, reconstructed areas and bone/fossil texture. This skull is a useful educational tool for studies in areas such as comparative anatomy.
